hi, im a 22 year old male, ive noticed my hairloss for about a year now, but im sure its been happening for longer.. i just never took much notice til someone made a comment. ive been wondering how i can combat this, so any advice would be great. i hav a receeding hairline at my temples and if any1 cud help me id b willing to send photos to see what u think?

ive been to advanced hair studio and they recommend a 6month laser therapy treatment but ive heard bad things about them? so can any1 help with that

iv read alot about propecia and minoxidl? do u think these could help me? ive read an awful lot that it causes extra shedding and i dont want that...

any posts back would be greatfully recieved,

thanks..

Hi Dan,

I don't think that a laser treatment is going to do much for you. We had a laser machine in our office and saw absolutely nothing come of it. I have yet to see someone coherently explain how it's supposed to work, or see any real results from using one.

Most people when losing their hair use drugs like finasteride and minoxidil which are FDA approved for hair loss. Some people experience shedding (most don't), and some people experience side effects (again, most don't).

There are risks for any medication, and there are risks for not doing anything either. You need to decide whether the potential risks from taking these drugs will outweigh the risk you take of losing your hair. That's a personal choice that nobody can make but you.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, and welcome to the forum.

Laser treatment is of no use, you wouldnt see any positive results from it. If you would take hair drugs like propecia, it would be harmful for you as it has many side effects but as mark said, it suits some people as well.

The side effects of Propecia do sound horrific, but I've been using it for a while with no ill effect.

I don't think the FDA would approve a drug that "would be harmful for you as it has many side effects" I think some people do have them, and obviously want to warn others, however 100,000's of people must use it all over the world, and you don't hear anywhere near as many complaints
