Hey

I ave a question concerning Ednura bond and derma bond. These are glues used for hair systems wigs or however you call it. Both products claim that they are save to be used DIRECTLY on the skin. Is that true? I am somehow skeptical that a glue would not harm your skin or cause any kind of cancer. Would be cool to have an answer to this. Thanks a bunch!

Yes, those kind of glues are supposed to be used directly on the skin. Endurabond is the one that is most frequently used as it's made specifically for this purpose. Dermabond on the other hand is a product that's used by doctors to close wounds without stitches.

Looking at the Dermabond site, there's a specific warning that some people may be especially sensitive to it and to watch out for that. I would assume the same would be said for endurabond, as it's hard to predict whether someone will have a reaction to a chemical.

The biggest concern Dr. Rassman has with the glues is this....

The hair grows under the wig, so these wigs must be removed and repositioned with fresh glue after the scalp is shaved. Eventually, the glues used will produce traction hair loss so that all of the hair in the glued areas will be lost.

So that's something to consider as well.
