Lately after seeing some photos of myself, my hair is becoming a major source of worry and concern. It has been for the last few years, but now it's really causing me some upset.

I am 28 years old.

I'd like to know if I am balding, if my hair is just thin, if it's a result of improper and irregular haircuts, breakage or what.

My hair feels pretty thick in other parts of my head, but the front is terrible. I should also know I started going a bit grey in my late teens and now I have a lot of grey and wiry hair.

My hair is long and recently got it cut. The lady who cut it told me "noooo" when I asked her if I was balding, but I do not believe her.

I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me what my problem looks like.

It looks like you may have some significant corner recession. Your overall thin hair could just be the way it always was or it could be genetic thinning. I don't really see any gray though. You may want to start using rogaine and Nizoral. Also go to a derm and if its mpb then take propecia as well. You still have a good amount of hair and I wouldn't be surprised if you maintain what you have for many years with the proper treatment even if it is mpb.

Thanks for the reply.

I also forgot to mention that I ALWAYS since the day I was born, had what we call "The Dracula Hairline" which I get from my grandfather on my dad's side.

What worries me is that my mom was adopted, so I never saw any male blood relatives from her side.

My sister told me it looks more like "breakage", what is going on in the front.

I'm going to start getting regular trims too, to promote thickness. I've only got my hair professionally cut twice since I was 14, haha. Besides that, it was all D.I.Y home cuts.

OK, so I want to purchase some Rogaine Foam and Nizoral as well. Is a 3 month supply good enough to start seeing results? Also, are generic brands like Kirkland Minoxidil a waste of money?

Finally, if anyone can suggest a good eBay seller with these products, it would be appreciated. Buying such products off eBay, I am always afraid of being scammed.

Hi, Eric. I'll tell you my story and what worked for me...
I started noticing increasing hair loss in the shower while taking cholesterol medicine and some steroids - both of which do have the potential side effect of hair loss. Despite steroid use, I am otherwise a healthy person, so I chose to investigate a more natural method first. I went to the Regenix (http://regenix.com) clinic inside the Cedar Sinai Treatment Center (http://www.cedars-sinai.edu/) to see my hair and scalp under a microscope, (interesting but scary at the same time) I discovered how many clogged hair pores I actually had. This is from too much DHT, a side effect of too much testosterone (go figure). They gave me specific shampoo to help clear my pores and a rinse, one of which negates the DHT (!). I started applying their custom formulated treatments to my hair 3 hair times a week as well. After 2 months, my hair stopped falling out and is now growing back even thicker and healthier. I went to the clinic again for another look under the microscope and my pores were clear!! So far so good. I would recommend their product to anyone not just bodybuilders! - r evans

OK, so I ordered a 2 month supply of Rogaine and a 7oz bottle of Nizoral.

My big concern now is the shedding. Just how bad is it? To me, my hair looks way too thin to the point of nothing being there. I am scared as all hell that it's going to thin it really bad....even if temporary.

I used Rogaine for the first time this morning. I'm just taking the plunge now.

However, now I am nervous. I've been reading Rogaine is ineffective on the areas in which my hair is thin? Am I wasting time and money?

I think rogaine is most effective at the crown, however i reccomend the generic brand, bc rogaines patent ran out so its basically the same ****, let me know how your shedding goes, this **** sucks haha

Tomorrow will mark one week of using Rogaine foam, twice daily.

Today was the first day I noticed a significant amount of shed and overall, it does indeed look as if my hair has gotten thinner. I've used it mostly in the frontal area of the head, but today I noticed the back of my head is also very damn thin and it looks as if a bald spot is forming. So now I will continue to use it there. Although I am scared, because I've noticed most of the hair that falls out of my head on a daily basis is from the back, not the front.

Looking at the images I posted above, I now see the top area thinning, anyone else?
