Hi, I had a hair transplant (approx 1800) to lower my hairline exactly 12 days ago. I am a female and this is my first hair transplant. I know I shouldnt have, but i induced the scabs to fall off by day 7 by rubbing it while it was dry. Only one time did I have blood. Otherwise, the hair stayed intact.

It is now day 12, and I am upset the hair is still intact as I have to go back to work. I noticed that when I gently pull on it, it easily falls off. Sometimes it's itchy so i cant help but scratch it and it also easily falls off. I figure it's ok b/c it's day 12 and i already got the scabs to rub off. Is it okay to pull on it so it will fall off? I'd rather go to work with the same forehead then walk in with a visible hair transplant procedure. My understanding is that some patients dont shed. I am hoping I shed, so that when new hairs grow out, it will grow out thin at first and look natural.

(1) Did i permanently damage the follicles by pulling on it on day 12??? Please advise! thank you
(2) can i take multivitamin pills now? I was earlier advised not to take certain vitamins

You really need to see your doctor, nobody on the internet is going to be able to tell you 100% either way what happened.

However, it's REALLY inadvisable to fiddle with your hair at all for at least a few weeks after the transplant. It's a fresh wound, and any rubbing, pulling, etc, can cause things to heal improperly or even get infected. I know it can be itchy because it's healing, but that healing period is crucial to seeing how your transplant will turn out in the long run.

As far as vitamins go, just don't take too much vitamin A and you should be ok. Everything in moderation....
