View Full Version : propecia more harm than good

I've been on and off Propecia for the last three years. However, the past 7 months I have been much more diligent and not going longer than 4 days without taking it. I'm at the culmination point of my hair being as thinned out as it has ever been. If my hair is not parted to the right(practically a comb over), you can see the scalp.
I'm a 29 year old male. I'm basically at a crossroads on whether to continue using the propecia.
COULD it be possible that propecia is doing more harm than good. I saw a few other related posts but there was no consensus on the validity of this point.??
I was thinking on going on the propecia web site and inquiring about this.
THERE is a disclaimer on the bottle saying do not take unless you have a history of male pattern baldness??
ANY input from you gentleman out there.

Hi Senorthiele,

I was intrieged by the post title so I thought I might be able to offer some advice. (This is my third post on this forum today, will I ever escape?!)

TBH, Propecia is a product designed to assist hair regrowth, not cure baldness, which explains why you are not witnessing the results you are hoping for.

This doesn't necessarily mean the product is of no use, Propecia just may not be the right choice of hair loss treatment for you. Don't give up, you are young, there are many alternative choices out there.

For anyone thinking about using Propecia, I would advise speaking to your doctor or read online.

There's a great resource that explains better than I can the benefits and drawbacks of Propecia, here:

www.121doc.co.uk/propecia.html

Why did I go online rather than talk to my doctor? It's quicker, it's more convenient and no one knows me. I believe this website allows you to buy propecia online with a prescription, so its a great way to test it for yourself.

If anyone does choose to use propecia hair loss treatment, please keep me updated with your progress. I'm eager to know.

Thanks

I think I may have found a company that ethically sources hair.
I need to research it more but they buy hair within the UK. Not sure if anyone else have heard of this, www.hairharvest.co.uk

If you don't' have MPB, the only side effect should be to your wallet for buying a drug you didn't need. I can't state this enough times. you can get on the internet and read about ANY medication and you'll find any number of people who claim to have had a terrible experience about it. That doesn't mean anything. This is why we have peer-review in the medial establishment, because that rules out anecdotal stories and focus's on hard facts.

And the hard fact here is that VERY few people experience any side effects on propecia. From my personal experience talking to patients, they see to have a natural psychological tendency to obsess about things in an unhealthy way.

Don't overthink it. You'll just psych yourself out. Talk to an expert. Your doctor. They have all that training for a reason.
