Hey there..
I am a 17 year old male and I have some questions..
First, to let u know - I've never had a head full of hair.. My hair is VERY thin and I've had a high forehead from the moment I was born :)

However I recently started playing with 2 mirrors and I saw my hair crown.. Now.. I don't know what my hair crown looked like before since I never really cared but I am not sure weather it's normal or not. So I asked my mother about it and she said that I've always had a hair crown like that since I never really had a lot of hair.. However I don't think I can really trust her since she's my mother and I guess it's kinda hard to tell your 17 year old son he's balding.. :)

I posted some pictures of me with my hair dry and messy, dry and combed, wet and messy and wet and combed..
What I would like you to do is just give me an opinion whether it is possible for a guy to be born with a crown like that (do hair crowns' thickness differ from a person to person?) or am I just balding?

Please reply :)

P.S. Pictures are made under light and camera flash..
P.S.S. Don't mind the blow dryer in some pictures.. I was pretending I was blow drying so my parents wouldn't bother me :)

It doesn't look like you have a problem to be honest! You have fine hair but it doesn't mean you will lose your hair. Make sure you keep a healthy diet since it can really help make your hair strong. If it isn't in your genes you will not go bald so don't stress about it! take care

hi Baah,, Mulder is correct, you have a decent hair crown and that your hair is very fine.. I wouldnt get too worked up over it at all.

Hi Baah,

You might want to listen to your mother. She's been looking at you since you were born, and she'll probably have the best opinion on this. If what she says is true (and it sounds like it since you speak of your hair always being thin) then you might not have a balding issue at all, simply a case of low density.

In fact, my hair is similar. I've alwasy noticed that my hair is much less thick than most of my friends. It's just how I was built.

Baah,
You just have fine hair. I have fine hair too. I know that's already been stated but I just want to reaffirm that fact. This doesn't look like a problem. Plus, you're only 17. This isn't any real cause for concern.
I started worrying about going bald ever since I was 16. I came to the realization that my dad is the only male on both sides of my family who still has hair.
The best thing you can do is not to worry about losing your hair. Worrying accomplishes absolutely nothing. Actually it might make things worse so just don't worry. I know you're thinking: "Now I'm going to worry about worrying". That's the way I am.
Just try not to worry and enjoy being young!

Thanks for all of your answers and sorry for my late reply :)

Well I guess it's just thin hair after all. I'm still checking my hair crown on daily basis tho (just can't help it :p).
I just got kinda scared since none of my school mates has a hair crown like that (they have loads of hair)and I never really saw myself from behind before :).

Thanks again for all of your answers!
