Hi,

I'm new to the forum. Just got a divorce and I'm trying to patch up the old shiny spot on the back of the head so I can snag a new lady. I've been googling around and happened across this company and I wondered if anybody had given it a try? I've seen the same type of stuff listed on Ebay and it seems to get pretty good marks for covering up. In my case I don't need (or want) a transplant and I'm just a little thin at the back. Any thoughts? Here is the link to the company:

Hi btaylor and welcome.

That stuff is pretty decent I really have to admit. It can really make a balding head look very nice again. I mean it highly depends on how progressed your hair loss is. The more hair you still have, the better it works. Just one thing: You must find the color of these hair fibres which matches with your hair. This is not always very easy to determine. If the color does not match it looks like as if you have colored your hair on the spot where you use this product. Also in my opinion it simply does not work tooooooo well on the hairline but best in the back, so good for you!. And dont forget: Less is often more. If you use too much of it, it does not look very nice.

If you dont want a hair transplant but to cover up this thinning spot at the back I would say: Go for it! The ladies will love you!

I'm not familiar with that product specifically, but it sounds like another product called "Toppik", which works very well for people in your situation. I'd give it a shot.

I havent tried anything like that because the first thing that comes to mind is of course the color matching. And if you do match the color ok,,will it STILL stand out like a sore thumb?

Personally I think it might be a bit expensive, it looks the same thing as Toppik and Nanofibres, both of which are more popular and cheaper?

I'd recommend you think about Dermmatch as well, it does require you have some hair, just as all the others do even if they don't admit it, but it works and lasts better than the fibre-products.

In my experience with all these colour-matching is vital, but if you get it right and apply the right amount it can be perfectly undetectable

I'd agree with Mexican in that Dermmatch is the best option as it won't wash off in water (eg swimming) or make a mess when you put it on. These spray-ons and powders, they're just going to make a mess, you have to do it before showering in the morning or it will ruin your workshirt, and then you have to make sure your head keeps dry. Does anyone need that hassle?
