Hi...I have a consultation with a Dr Nettle at the 'Silkwood' Institute in Sydney Australia. One of the procedures I want to talk to him about is hair line lowering surgery. I'm 32yrs old and male...I don't really have hair loss other than very slightly at the temples, but I have a naturally high hairline and would like it a bit lower. My question is how natural a result can I realistically expect..as I wouldn't really want it to be too obvious..and if I balded later in life would I have visible scars and if I did could something then be done to correct that? Also are their any pertinent questions I should ask Dr Nettle about his experience performing the procedure.
Kind Regards

Hi Maxamillion,
There's a pretty good blog post here about this very subject. (http://www.baldingblog.com/2009/01/27/surgical-hairline-lowering-hairline-transplant/)
Basically, if you're genetically predisposed to balding, a hairline lowering procedure is not a very good idea because if you bald more, you're going to see a big scar in the front of your head. Better to do a hair transplant.
If however you don't have MPB, then a hairline lowering procedure might be what you need.

I do have something to tell you, which seems to be beneficial for you as, I know that hair transplant is necessary for your problem as, it is a part of hair loss treatment and one should go for it for better outcomes.
Thanks
