I just wanted someone else's opinion on this.
I am currently 18 years old, and I began noticing in October of last year that my hair was beginning to thin on the sides, on my temples. It has been 7 months since I started to notice this, and as of this writing, the thatches of hair that I used to have on my temples have receded almost to completely to my sideburns. The hair beyond the point directly above my sideburns still seems to be fairly thick, however. Moving up to the corners of my hairline, I can see and feel the hair thinning to a point about an inch and a quarter back from the highest wrinkle on my forehead, but the hair still seems pretty strong beyond there. As for the peak of my hairline, it has absolutely no thinning hairs at all, although it certainly has receded, since it is about one third of an inch from the highest wrinkle. However, the hair is this area is still thick and strong, and has some spring to it when I stick it up and press it down gently with my hand.
If I can get my hands on a camera, I will try and provide some photos, but judging on my description, could you say whether I am merely experiencing a maturing hairline, or is this early signs of MPB?
Hell, before I go, I might as well provide some family history of baldness. On my father's side, everyone except my youngest uncle (who is in his late forties), has a completely bald dome, while my youngest uncle has about a NW3. On my mother's side, only my grandfather went bald, while my other uncles still have nearly all of their hair. My oldest brother (in his late twenties) started balding early, and is at about NW3, with a bald patch on the crown of his head, while my other brother (early twenties), still retains his juvenile hairline.
Thank you for your time.
