I'm 20 (about to hit 21) and started looking at my hair because I notice some in the shower drain occasionally and also frequently on my brush. I live in Georgia and went to a local dermatologist recently and asked him about my hair. Although he sounded like he knew what he was talking about, he just looked at my hair in the usual problem areas for men with his hands and eyes and said I looked fine. I notice y'all keep recommending a miniaturization mapping, and am interested in getting one of those done so I can have as good of a guesstimate as possible. How would I go about finding out if there's somewhere around here that I could go to get a mapping done? Thanks

That's a good question. The first thing I'd do is call any hair transplant surgeons in your area and ask if they do miniaturization, because they'd be the most likely to do so. The next option (and what I consider the best) is to just purchase a digital microscope and perform a test on yourself. It's fairly easy to do.

You can find links on where you can buy one yourself at the bottom of this blog post. (http://www.baldingblog.com/2008/11/14/mapping-your-own-scalp-for-miniaturization-part-1/)

Hope that helps,
