Hey guys/anyone just quit using Propecia... doing it because i was using it to stop possible loss after having some light receding hair line. Im working out pretty intensely and im just worried it might be affecting my gains a little as they are sloooow. Anyways i noticed im going a lot more lately and i kinda have this bloaty feeling all the time. It interrupts my sleep a good amount as well.

Ive read that propecia blocks the conversion of most of testosterone to DHT and that DHT binds to hair cells (killing them in people with MPB) and also seems to bind to cells around the prostate which can in some cases cause enlargement. I didnt seem to have this problem before and im wondering if quitting the propecia (which its been about 2 weeks off) could possibly start prostate enlargement?

Thanks for the help.

Hi Crisos,

I just spoke with Dr. Rassman and he said unequivocally that it will not enlarge your prostate.

Mark: In a similar vein, sincePropecia (formerly Proscar) was originally designed to combat prostate enlargement, do you know if studies have been done to determine whether the use of Propecia for extended periods leads to shrinking of the prostate? If so, are there negative implications to that?
