Having started with the 1/4s I experienced some side effects and decided to work my way into using it, cutting it down into 1/8s to get around 0.5 mg. What I'm wondering is, it's almost impossible im getting this dosage per day as surely the finasteride wudnt be spread evenly throughout the pill but as long as you are getting the 5mg over 8 days would that have roughly the same effect?

Some studies have shown that .5mg finasteride can be about 80% as effective as 1mg. However, I don't know if there have been any studies done about the situation you're talking about. I suppose that by cutting 5mg pills into 8th's you just have to roll the dice and hope for the best. If you want to get a more accurate dose, I'd suggest cutting propecia pills in half.
