If you are looking for ways to prevent balding, then you may want to use one or more of the techniques below:

Technique 1:

Minoxidil - an ingredient contained in Provillus, has been shown to help promote hair regrowth for women. However it only works in about 20% of cases and results are not immediate. You will need to use this product consistently for a few months before you see extensive results, but this is because your hair follicles need time to repair and get back into production. Studies have shown that Minoxidil is more effective in women than it is for men, but both have shown results.

Technique 2:

Laser Combs - this is a new but promising technology. It works by stimulating the follicles and is one of only 3 products approved by the FDA to promote hair regrowth for women.

Technique 3:

Saw Palmetto - this herbal remedy does seem to stimulate regrowth. It is taken orally and is available in many over the counter formulations.

Technique 4:

Surgery - this is a drastic but rapid solution. This procedure transfers your own hair from places it is thick to thinning areas. Unfortunately, if your thinning out everywhere on your head, as is common in women, this is not a viable option for you.

I have a feeling that Michel is here just to spam their blog (I removed some ads from their sig). But I'll bite.

Michel, how does "laser therapy" work exactly. I've read countless times that it "stimulates" follicles, but how exactly does it work?

Also, I should note that laser products like laser combs have indeed been approved by the FDA, but they're not approved to promote hair regrowth. They have simply been shown by the FDA to do no harm. It's very important not to conflate the two distinctions.

Dr Rassman has written about provillus quite a bit on the blog, here's a recent post. (http://baldingforum.com/showthread.php?t=1041)

Short answer? It won't hurt you, but he doesn't recommend it.
